Four Stitches In The Knee - YIKES
I was outside and I was putting a friend on the trampoline. I was going inside, but, I was running and I accidentally tripped and gashed my knee. I ran inside and it really hurt, so I was screaming. I was really worried that I would have to get stitches and go to the hospital. I thought it would be really painful. I was bleeding a lot. Mom, Dad and Rachel were holding a cloth up to get all the blood out of the hole in my knee and Dad told me about when he had 120 stitches in his head - he was 5. That didn't make me feel any better - I still was worried it would hurt. Mom told Rachel to get the camera, so here's some pictures of my gashed knee:
Mom and Rachel went with me to the emergency room. We went to Children's Hospital and I got to ride in a wheelchair. The nurses checked my knee and asked me some questions about my knee and then she told me that I was going to get stitches. I really didn't want stitches, because I was scared that it would hurt.
This nice lady talked to me about what was going to happen to my knee and had this little kit that had all the tools in it that the doctors were going to use on my knee. I could hold everything and even make a stitch on a doll she had, just so I would know how it all worked and what was going to happen.
It wasn't as bad as I thought. I didn't even feel a thing, except a little on the fourth one, like the doctor was pulling and tugging on my knee. That did hurt a little. I had to get a tetanus shot, too, just in case the bricks were dirty. That made my arm sore for quite a bit.
I am the first of all my sisters and brother to have stitches!
